Director of Strategic Innovation
Robert Camp stepped down from his role as Managing Partner of award-winning law firm, Stephens Scown on 30 April 2019.
During his 8 year tenure, the Firm doubled in size with turnover of c.£20m and in excess of 300 staff and has emerged as one of the leading law firms in the South West. Being a visionary leader of a traditional professional services firm was challenging but Robert’s infectious enthusiasm and clear vision ensured change in the Firm’s culture and brand happened over a relatively short period of time.
Robert’s new role with the Firm as Director of Strategic Innovation involves looking outside the legal profession on ways to enhance the customer experience and embrace the “human / digital” concept of delivering a high quality service in a manner which works for the client.
Robert is passionate about enabling everyone to fulfil their potential and be proud of the work they do and who they work with which, in turn, leads to better service and client engagement. Robert was instrumental in implementing the Firm’s groundbreaking employee ownership programme “Scownership” and now heads up the Firm’s growing employee ownership sector.
Robert is a non-executive director of a regional surveying firm, as well as a member of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEP and Board member of the Exeter Festival of Food and Drink.
For 10 years Robert was a trustee and Board member of Tearfund, a £70m Christian overseas aid and development charity. Robert has recently been appointed to the board of New Wine.
Stephens Scown ranked 44thin the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For 2019 for the fifth consecutive year.
